Green Funerals Swindon

We are proud to offer green funerals in Swindon, Wroughton and across our local area. Eco-friendly funerals have become very popular in recent years. Many people are preferring a greener alternative to a traditional burial or cremation. If a traditional funeral worries you or you would like to maintain your environmentally friendly ethos, then we are here to help with any arrangements.

What Is A Natural Burial?

A natural burial is a burial that does not disturb the environment. Unlike traditional burials, they allow the land to return to its natural state. This keeps the process as natural and carbon neutral as possible. We have all the required permissions and certificates we need from the local authority, so our services will take place in a local woodland area. The land cannot be altered, so the plot cannot be marked with a headstone and tending to a natural plot is not allowed.

These services allow friends and family to see their loved one in a natural setting, which can make visits less distressing and more fulfilling. Traditions are beginning to change, as green funerals are popular with both religious and non-religious people.

Our Eco-Friendly Coffins

We can also provide you with a choice of eco-friendly coffins. Our range features beautiful wicker, willow and bamboo designs. It is a requirement that the coffin must be made from sustainable materials.

There are a number of rules to comply with. We cannot embalm in this service. It is also very important that all clothing and items within the coffin are biodegradable, so nothing disturbs the natural landscape.

‘It was the best decision we ever made to choose our local funeral directors, Jem and Karen. From the moment I met them the whole burden was lifted from me and they took care of everything for the whole ten days before the funeral. There were endless consultations and they paid such incredible attention to detail. I couldn’t imagine how anyone could have done it better. On the day itself they ensured the funeral was absolutely perfect. And their advice about ashes and all the follow up was perfect too. I couldn’t recommend them enough.’
